Birds I saw yesterday

Wed Aug 6, 2008, 10:56 PM
  • Mood: Tired
  • Listening to: The sound of a fan, the refrigerators, etc.
  • Reading: What I just wrote, checking for errors.
  • Watching: An LCD screen ruin my eyes.
  • Playing: the "let's find a job" game, woo-hoo!
  • Eating: Anything not claimed yet in the refrigerator.
  • Drinking: Diet A&W root beer.
On my way to McDonald's for lunch, walking across the bridge on Syndicate Drive at 11am, I sneezed and then a rather large bird flew from under this bridge through under the highway bridge. It had a 5 to 7 foot wingspan, all-white feathers, and a long and sharply pointed sulfur-yellow beak.

At 1:30pm, I was walking through the forested area beside Sand Creek and, in the same place I had seen a family of turkeys the day before, I saw only part of a bird's head and neck from behind the grasses. It had no feathers on its head or neck, the skin was a light to medium shade of blue, the eye was black and about the size of a nickel or a quarter, and it was about 3.5 to 5 feet tall. It made eye-contact with me and it ran across Sand Creek very quickly.

Thanks, still building it with some photos I've taken today though. I hope there's not an upper-limit...

Thanks for the welcome.

Rome wasn't built in a day, but then again neither were the Romans omnipotent nor omniscient.

"Hellig, hellig, hellig er Herren Gud, den allmektige,
han som var og som er og som kommer!" ?
